Helen: Smartoys has really caught the eye of the public recently, after Smartoys won the Environment Protection Award. Many residents have called to inquire about the nek open house.

Nancy: That's school for sure called Riverside junior high yesterday to in ,te Mr. Francis to deliver a speech on environment protection to students in science class. But Mr. Francis has been up to his ears in traveling and he won't be back until next month. So I'm going togive a talk on his behalf.

Helen; Are you going to give an impromptu speech or a manuscript one?

Nancy.. Well, something in between. Those school students certainly are fed up with someone reading them verbatim. And since I have enough time to prepare, I won't speak to them off the cuff either. I have prepared an outline and some slides. Here is my outline.

海伦:你准备进行即席演讲还是照稿宣读?

南希:二者结合吧。如果是逐字地照稿宣读，那些中学生肯定会感到厌烦的。另外我也有足够的时间来准备，不需要做即席演讲。我已经准备好了一份提纲和一些幻灯片。
